Around Four Oaks, Little Sutton and Mere Green there are substantial detached houses with large apertures, bays, and rear elevations that were designed to be opened up. Towards Wylde Green, Boldmere and Walmley the housing is more varied, with a large stock of inter-war and post-war property that has had glazing replaced at least once already.
What those areas share is expectation. On a house of that size the frame is part of the architecture, so the profile choice, the sightline and the quality of the finish matter as much as the U-value.
