The service

Commercial installations, quoted and run like a trade job should be

Commercial glazing has different priorities to domestic. Nobody cares which colour the frames are if the front of the premises is boarded up for a fortnight. What matters is access, hours, disruption, a price that holds and a team who can be trusted on site with the public walking past.

We carry £10,000,000 public liability insurance, we are Assured registered, and every installation is covered by a 10-year insurance-backed guarantee through IWA. The team is eight strong, each with 20 to 25+ years in the trade, in sign-written vans and full uniform.

The work covers glazing and door installations for commercial premises: shopfronts, entrances, window replacement and associated glazing, in UPVC and in Smarts aluminium where strength and slim sightlines are needed.

Retail and shopfronts

Frontages where appearance and daily footfall both matter, and where being closed costs money.

Offices and units

Window and entrance replacement in occupied premises, phased so staff can keep working.

Landlords and managing agents

Fixed-price quoting on glazing and door replacement across a property, with clear scope in writing.

Businesses in older premises

Tired frames leaking heat and money. Note that we do not work on listed or heritage buildings.

What it costs to leave it

Failing frames on a commercial building cost more than the replacement does

On a house, tired windows are uncomfortable. On commercial premises they cost you in energy, in security, in appearance to customers, and in the working time lost every time something has to be propped, wedged or patched.

Heating a building you cannot seal

Commercial spaces are large and often poorly sealed already. Failing glazing multiplies a bill that is already the biggest overhead after staff.

Security and insurance exposure

Worn locking, dropped doors and cracked glazing are a genuine risk on premises holding stock or equipment.

The front of the business looks neglected

Customers read a tired frontage as a tired business. It is the first thing they see and the cheapest thing to fix properly.

The mistakes we get called out to fix

  • Booking work with no agreement on hours, then losing trading days
  • Patching the same door repeatedly instead of replacing the frame that has moved
  • Specifying domestic-grade doors for entrances with heavy daily traffic
  • Using an installer without adequate public liability cover on a public-facing site
  • Accepting a quote that gets revised once work is under way
  • No insurance-backed guarantee, so the cover disappears with the installer

Our process

Five steps, the same on every job we take on

Step 1

Inspection

We attend the premises, look at the work and discuss access and trading hours. Verbal quote free of charge.

Step 2

Survey and programme

Measured survey, specification and a phasing plan that keeps the premises usable. Written quote £25, deducted from the invoice.

Step 3

Fixed-price order

One fixed price, never added to. Frames manufactured to survey dimensions, minimum 10 weeks from order.

Step 4

Installation

Our own fitters, in uniform, working the agreed hours. The building is left secure and weathertight at the end of every day.

Step 5

Handover and guarantee

Doors and openers tested with you, site cleared, and the installation registered for the 10-year IWA insurance-backed guarantee.

What you get

The difference a properly fitted job makes

Trading through the work

Phasing is agreed before we start, and we never leave an opening unsecured overnight.

Insured for public-facing sites

£10,000,000 public liability cover and Assured registration behind every installation.

Specification that suits the traffic

Aluminium where strength and slim sightlines are needed, UPVC where it is the sensible spend.

Lower running costs

Modern double glazing in sealed frames stops the building leaking the heat you are paying for.

A price that holds

Fixed at order and never added to, so the budget you approved is the budget you pay.

Ten-year insurance-backed cover

IWA guarantee on workmanship and frames, so the cover survives whatever happens to any one company.

In detail

Systems, applications and how commercial differs from domestic

The products overlap with our domestic work; the specification and the way the job is run do not.

Smarts aluminium for commercial frontages

Aluminium is usually the right answer on commercial work: it carries larger panes on slimmer frames, it takes a durable powder-coated finish, and it stands up to constant use far better than a domestic-grade alternative.

We fit Smarts aluminium across windows, bi-folds and commercial installations, so a frontage can be specified as one coherent set.

UPVC where it makes sense

Eurocell and premium Rehau UPVC are the sensible specification for offices, back-of-house areas, flats above premises and anywhere the frame is not taking commercial-level traffic.

We will tell you where aluminium is worth the money on your building and where UPVC does the same job for less.

Entrance doors and locking

Entrance doors on commercial premises cycle hundreds of times a day. Hardware and locking specification are chosen for that duty rather than for a domestic front door.

The frame fixing matters as much as the door: frames are packed and fixed into sound structure so the door does not drop under use.

Running the job around your business

Access, working hours, deliveries and where we can site materials are agreed at survey rather than negotiated on the first morning.

The site is left secure and weathertight every night. Sign-written vans, uniformed fitters and tidy working are not optional extras on a public-facing site.

Roofing and building work

Beyond glazing, we build tiled warm roofs as a Eurocell approved tile installer and carry out extensions start to finish: groundworks, brickwork, roof, glazing, plastering, painting and flooring.

If a commercial project needs more than glazing, ask at survey and we will tell you honestly whether it is a job for us.

Terms worth knowing

Quotes are fixed and never added to. A verbal quote is free; a written quote is £25 and is deducted from the final invoice if you proceed.

Lead time is a minimum of 10 weeks from order. Payment is cash or bank transfer only, no credit cards, no finance. We do not work on listed or heritage buildings.

Questions we get asked

Commercial Work: straight answers

Do you quote commercial jobs differently to domestic?
The method is the same: free verbal quote, £25 written quote deducted from your invoice, fixed price never added to. What changes is the specification and the phasing plan around your trading hours.
How much disruption should we expect?
That is agreed before we start. We phase the work so the premises stays usable, and the building is left secure and weathertight at the end of every day.
What insurance do you carry?
£10,000,000 public liability insurance. We are also Assured registered, the competent persons scheme equivalent to FENSA and Certass.
What guarantee applies to commercial installations?
A 10-year insurance-backed guarantee through IWA on the workmanship and the frames, the same cover as our domestic work.
How long is the lead time?
A minimum of 10 weeks from order, because frames are manufactured to your surveyed dimensions. At busier times it can run longer and we will tell you honestly before you commit.
Can you work outside our opening hours?
Access and working hours are part of the survey conversation. Tell us what your business needs and we will tell you straight what we can do.
Do you offer an emergency call-out service?
We are an installation business rather than a 24-hour emergency service. Call 07597 125590 during opening hours (Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm, Saturday 10am to 2pm) and we will be straight with you about what is possible.
How long will commercial-grade frames last?
Aluminium frames specified for commercial duty are a long-term asset, no rot, no repainting, and hardware chosen for high-frequency use. The installation carries a ten-year insurance-backed guarantee.
Which areas do you cover for commercial work?
Lichfield, Burntwood, Rugeley, Fradley, Tamworth, Sutton Coldfield, Shenstone, Little Aston, Armitage and the surrounding Staffordshire villages.
How is payment handled?
Cash or bank transfer, with a deposit that varies by the size and type of job. We do not take credit cards and we do not offer finance.
